Eco House: Stylish & Sustainable Urban Living

In the current zeitgeist, sustainability is becoming more and more important. Architects and designers are very aware of the current environmental issues and take this into their innovative designs. Australian couple Tanya McKenna and Peter Chadwick wanted their home in Perth to be as sustainable as possible. Tanya works a sustainability consultant and partnered up with architect Carla Karsakis of Etica Studio in order to realize their dream.

Despite the limited amount of land, the house has been optimally designed to accommodate three bedrooms and two bathrooms, set over one level plus a mezzanine. Referred to affectionately as their ‘Nature-Inspired Eco House’,  this home really is a physical manifestation of Tanya and Peter’s life philosophies. The interior consists of a lot of vintage furniture and items made from upcycled materials, like the handmade, hanging plywood lamps made by Peter himself.
